Staff Qualifications and experience

Alpha Community Care recognises the importance, not only to the company but more importantly to the service users that all care staff have the appropriate knowledge, skills and experience to ensure the health and welfare needs of service users are appropriately met.

Every care is taken in recruitment, training and the supervising of staff to ensure that we employ carers who are competent and passionate about providing a high quality service.

Our robust recruitment process makes way for a comprehensive induction program which includes a range of relevant training including:

  • Safeguarding of Vulnerable Adults/Whistleblowing
  • Mental Capacity Act
  • Deprivation of Liberties
  • Health & Safety
  • Dementia
  • Moving and Positioning
  • Medication
  • First Aid
  • Food Safety
  • Infection Control

All staff will be expected to attain their Care Certificate which replaced the Common Induction Standards (CIS) in 2015, within twelve weeks of taking up employment at Alpha Community Care. Those staff who have previously undertaken the CIS will utilise a top-up module to top up their evidence, so that they can demonstrate they meet the new standards.

Additional training needs and opportunities for further development are identified through regular supervision and appraisal and all staff will also be encouraged to gain a Qualifications and Credit Framework Diploma in Care, formally the NVQ.
